Horizon Yachts has recently announced that the fifth hull of its new FD85 yacht model is under contract with a repeat owner from the Netherlands.
Born from a collaboration between Dutch designer Cor D. Rover and Horizon’s in-house naval architecture team, the FD85’s exterior styling is matched by a voluminous interior boasting floor-to-ceiling windows.
The owner, who is an experienced yachtsman, specified several customisation to take advantage of the yacht’s 7.07m beam and five-stateroom layout, including two VIP suites and two personalised guest staterooms to accommodate his grandchildren.
On the aft deck, the owner and his wife specified a combination settee and dining table. On the spacious flybridge, they increased the size of the bar and added more bar seating as well as a custom section to the hard top that can be opened for sunbathing.
Twin Cat C18 ACERT 1,136hp diesel engines and Horizon’s new High Performance Piercing Bow (HPPB) design will allow this 26m yacht to achieve versatile and efficient cruising speeds between 10 and 16 knots.
The FD85#5 is scheduled to be delivered to her owner in early 2018.
